You are correct the StuG III was the most produced German tank type vehicle of WWII. It served in the middle east wars as late as the 1967 6 day war by Syria and other Arab Armies.

Last night, I made an impromptu gun run with a Yak-3 on the backside of a Hetzer... It blew up. Weak rear armor, it seems.

Hetzer has only 20mm of rear & side and 8mm of top armor
