well maybe wikipedia isn't the best source but the 1b and 2 models featured 4 20mm cannons as apposed to the 50 cals

"as opposed" is not the same as "in addition"   :P

No Bearcat had both.

While I love the F8F:
-1

No to post war / secret weapons of the Luftwaffe / fantasy planes. We do not need more super prop planes. There are enough early and mid war planes missing and planes we already have that need an overhaul.
Mosquito VI - twice the spitfire, four times the ENY.

While it would be nice to have something that I'd want spend perks on, I'd have to agree with the consensus here that the Bearcat has no place in AH as it is currently formulated.

The F8F-1 didn't see combat... It was, however, in theater... VF-19 was a board a CVL, one day west of Pearl Harbor when Japan threw in the towel. That was considered to be in the Central Pacific Theater of Operations. Hawaii was within that theater. Of course, the only recognized threat was Japanese subs....

There are so many planes that were used from 1943 onwards that could be added, so it never makes sense to me personally, to include planes that were pretty uncommon or barely saw combat in comparison to other more likely choices, if you are trying to make an accurate representation of planes in 1943-1945. USN seems massively popular in AH, but they are all single-engined. It would be nice to have Venturas, Hudsons, Catalinas etc first, these aircraft saw far more service and varied types of roles.

In many ways, the Grumman F8F Bearcat was the pinnacle of United States piston-engine fighter design. The aircraft arrived within the waning months of World War 2, missing combat action in all theaters altogether, but still managed to leave a legacy of power and performance even with the advent of the jet age. Its powerful Double Wasp radial piston engine and thoughtful design made for an excellent aircraft and one is left to his/his imagination as to the impact such a fighter would have had would it have shown up in time for combat in history's greatest airborne confrontations.

i don't see a reason why it should be, unless you want to put it a cv and be unselectable.

Mute point guys!!! IT had NO None Nodia COMBAT Service. :old: -10 Ta-152 ME-163 Spit XVI all saw combat service.

Sooner like to see P-80 Gloster Meteor . :pray

BF109s updated.   :x

And maybe some early war French Planes. As of now I believe no French planes that were Developed by France are avalible.

Now if HTC would develop a post war arena then yes I could see. But that would include everything to 1955 which would mean Mig-15's and F-86's.  :x.

But before you slam on this in the thread consider  We have WWI WWII. Just throwing a idea out there HTC in maybe 3-4 more years. Maybe the community would be ready for a refresher...

HT just this as a feedback card at those restaurants..  I would prefer to see the planes that are currently here get updated first. :x

Ok guys go ahead and poke holes in my Ballon :bolt:
