I don't know how serious your Range Master(s) take their jobs at your ranges. But, here, light messing around is likely to result in a stern warning with Master's hand on his sidearm. Anything more than light messing around is likely going to be met with a Master's sidearm pointed at your face.
Here they don't tolerate anyone breaking any rules and offenders will be told to leave immediately if they do it twice. Many of our ranges are staffed by some sort of law enforcement (G&F usually,) thus they have the authority to arrest too.
Ive been a RO for a long time at my friends indoor range and gunshop, and anyone that 1. breaks the rules 2. acts in anyway, in the ROs opinion, could put anyone in harms way, is immediately told to make the weapon safe, case it and asked to leave, no arguement.....you leave period. If said person will not leave, or gives me a hard time, Law enforcement is called, and the people are made to leave..
Ive only had this happen on one occasion, and the person was less than happy being told to leave, thankfully 2 booths over was Lt.Merrigan of the local PD...needless to say it ended quickly and the person left.
(we let all the local Federal, State and Local law enforcement officers shoot at our range for free.....just good business that has paid off in spades. People that shoot there know that many many LEOs hang out at our range, and act accordingly.
In the same breath, I asked a Philadelphia police officer to leave the range for sweeping his buddies twice with the muzzle of his service weapon, if i think they are breaking the rules, or not acting in a safe manner your out regardless....
