Nice little skiff thee Cur.! :aok

How far apart are you on price,if you dont mind me asking?

If it's more than 10% then I'd sit back and look some more,if it's near 10% I'd offer another 2% and then ask if he's willing to hang on to it for what amounts to a months birth...... :D

Carrying a small metal briefcase can have a great effect,of course I'd only have a cheque in it but he wont know that until the deal is done.....  as you said cash is king!!!!!!

Bought my last car sort of like that, figured out how much I wanted to pay, taxes included and got a certified cheque for that amount, deal tried to squeeze another $800 out of me and I said I have the cheque made out,it's this amount,if you dont sell me the car I'll go somewhere else and handed him the cheque!

The dealer principle came in and I asked if it was worth 800 to loose a sale?

Next day I picked up my car!!!    End of month, late friday afternoon!!! :aok

    :salute

PS: both my wife and I worked at dealerships in the past!!!

I don't mind.

Let's have your opinion.

New it was landed here for $350,000 in late 2010.

The guy's asking is $225,000

Our final offer was $195,000, his final final is $200,000

We are only 5k apart.

Bear in mind...if we were to buy this in the US (and the price he is asking is about in-line with US prices) we would then have to ship it here and pay 30% duty.

My boat is a 2002 SeaRay 240 Sundancer.  I'm the second owner, bought it from the original owner in 2003 after he figured out it wasn't a very good ski boat .  Guy had more money then sense it seems.

I keep her on Lake Norman here in North Carolina.  She's always been drystored so looks fairly new.

She's got less than 200 hours on the engine, 90 of which were put on the engine by the original owner the first year he owned it....like I said, more money then sense.

I don't have a picture of her handy so I'll post this one from a Google image search....my boat is pretty much identical.

Going by "Hoplite" now. :)

Only 5 K apart........If I really wanted it I'd offer another 2 K and tell him thats final,if you dont like it I'm going to get another boat anyways... Or maybe even stay firm but offer to take him out to dinner to seal the deal! :aok

If I have my numbers right, that should be maybe 2 full tanks of fuel,ok maybe 3 but still It's like 2 % of total I cant beleive the numbskull wont take it,his birth has to cost close to that a season!

You are not 5k apart, you are one ego apart.

I hope you mean HIS ego?  ;)

I have left my buddy to finish the negotiations rather than email me draft letters etc.  I am sure he will get the deal done.

You must come back and have a ride Mitch!
