You might be a veteran of Aces high if you remember VansCrew shooting down Santa and getting booted off the game. Funniest moment ever.

Wow, has that been that long ago?  Weren't we all in WoT at that time??

You aren't a vet unless you had to hide a $300.00 phone bill from your wife during the early days of AirWarrior and now your are still playing here.

Who remembers being proud that your monitor could show all of the available colors, both black and white?

Subscribed in 2004. Used to be an avid player. Still technically C.O. 91st, but it's hit & miss anymore as far as time to actually play.

Woo boy I remember that. I got transferd from Tucson to Valdosta GA during the old DOS days. I didnt have access to a Kesmai the 800 number in Valdosta.
What the hell I thought, I wont play that much.. Sure enough a phone bill came for over $300.. :lol I cut down to one night a week but it was still a huge strain
on the wallet and peace in the household.  :lol

The formula used is quite long, and involves cases of beer consumed, pizza crusts under the computer table, and that sort of thing, all multiplied and divided by each other, including such factors as number of joysticks trashed divided by the number of successful landings less the number of deaths. There is more but I've bored you enough already.

Me, personally?  I downloaded and played AH on the first day of the open beta, during the early days of September, 1999.

I have a feeling that to be considered a "Vet" amongs this mash-up of pilots, one needs to go through a few "trials".....

1. you must have a story from in-game which only a  hand full of other players claim to have experienced, and that many others will claim knowledge of..
  • Sheep Knowledge, they are watching.
  • Shooting Santa Down!??
  • etc

2. You no longer care about "earning perks, so I can fly that xxxxx plane!"
3. You've watched more documentaries on WWII on a Cathode-Ray Tube television than you have from youtube....
4. You joined AH2 because of a History Channel advertisement
5. From what I've read on the forum's, you also must be "trolled" or "flamed" on the forum for one reason or another, usually because you're more awesome than that other guy....

I've got a LONG ways to go to be in the same class as some of these ol'  :old: pilots...  :neener:

Either way, so far it's a good community. I'm just a new player all wide-eyed and bushy tailed I suppose...

Looking up to the old grizzled veterans and the crazy tale tails they tell....  :noid
