I had a gaming rig specifically built for BF4. BF2 was so enjoyable that I spent years playing it. Got into other things when BF3 was around. But I'm back and ready for BF4. The damage model in BF2 was a bit gamey (took 3 to 4 rounds from the M-16A4 to kill a person- real life study from Vietnam showed it only took 2). Anyhow, I'd always have a blast landing a Blackhawk full of troops at an enemy flag in the rear. Or racking up massive amount of kills in the M2HB mounted atop the HUMVEE. Having a couple of Bradleys and Abrams with engineers as drivers (to repair each other) made for some awesome armored formations.
Anyways, I went with a Pentium I7-4770k 3.5mhz processor, GTX 670 2mb video card (are they still called GeForces?), 16mb of DDR3 1600mhz ram, Windows 7 Ultimate. I found some guy on Craigslist who built the machine for me, only charged $100 to put it all together. Was going to go with an all AMD setup, but for the same price (and better performance) I got a intel rig. Just the heat factors alone made that a wise decision. The highest performing AMD machines have to be water cooled. Even my rig puts off some heat, but I got a nice fan setup and a digital temp display. Been playing the latest version of Americas Army on it. Having a blast.
