Along the same lines of what Lusche.  It amuses me to no end when the Knight General's get all fired up because no one on Knights will play the way that they want to play.  If you really wanted to lead men to take bases, you would be in a squad that did that, you would organize your own squad, attracting like minded players and go for it.

I personally just love when we are hugely outnumbered, some general is whining incessantly about no organization and the he says, "The hell with Knights, I'm switching sides".  I actually had one of these guys say tom me recently, "Hartmann, you should be more of a team player, all you do is fly around shooting guys down!"  :O

I am amused.

That's not knightland for sure.

I very much enjoy being on the outnumbered side and fight the hordes and thus it was great being a Knight, as for the last weeks/months it was the side most likely to be outnumbered... and most often quite massively so. Cheap perk planes, great perk bonus, lots of targets to kill without having to compete with 20 greens around... great stuff

But the neverending massive whining like "we suck ... when did Knights ever win a map... why aren't we organised..." combined with massive personal attacks ("it's YOUR fault we always lose because you...") and spy allegations simply made me quit them. It was unbearable.
Now I fly with numbers, but in peace.

I could imagine I'm not the only one  :noid

In the episode where you were being text buffer attacked, I remember a few of us speaking up for your efforts against strats and trying to explain to the attackers the dynamic of strats in the game...Some of the insults hurled at you were completely BS and almost all the rest were skewed or coming from a couple there who I don't even see playing regularly. I'm sure you know who was criticizing you better than I do, but there are a lot of us who appreciate when another goes a does a strat run, if they're successful it frees someone else up to go fight. There are also (as you know) many many who don't understand strats, don't care, or just like to be internet toughguys, funnyguys & ultra melons.  They jump to a gangbang like vultures and that day you were the carcass of these types.

I'm sure you were aware of all of that, but just wanted to point out that some of us tried to talk some sense into them and correct their inaccuracies;  prolly to no avail  :bhead
They're casting their bait over there, see?

Fellas its like this. You can find the fight through defense or offense. I personally like picking fights instead of reacting to them. Knights for the most part are self interested or play whackamole.

If only you had access to the Knights-only private forum...  :noid

A simple thing rooks and bish do to take bases that knights don't.

Bish and rooks up a second or third mission into a stalled base take and just flatten everything if the first master piece of strategery stalls.

The knights give it one go. When any tiny unaccounted thing goes wrong. It either destabilizes into a furball with possibly a base take "maybe". Or, you are suddenly green and all alone. But, not to say the knights aren't still at it. You can watch the second or even third knight mission starting on a new field and the same thing happens one or two sectors away. I can only think the mission leader means well to either sneak an undefended base or draw cons away from the first stalled mission. At least the second wave could take down ack that most knights seem to avoid like sunlight to a vampire to save their ammo for vulching. Lately I watch too many knight missions regret not de-acking.

Bish and rook seem to be able to convince two or three players to fly bomber boxes a few minutes behind the initial base attack who subsequently flatten everything missed, stopping any defense in it's tracks. It works and absolutely pisses off and demoralizes the defenders. About 35-40% of the time the knights defeat the first wave well enough that the bombers can't shut down the field. The rest of the time knights are off somewhere furballing or playing tank commander while 3 or 4 guys try to defend.

The character of each country and how missions are run, may more be a reflection of the resident squads and what about this game motivates them as organized groups. I watched squads leave the knights over the last 2 years for the bish and rooks to be with friend squads they felt were more motivated and organized. Earlier this month a knight announced on country text he was going rook because he couldn't take the disorganization and lack of motivation. Kind of what white flight left behind it in the cities with a few recent exceptions where the inner cities are being reclaimed and rebuilt into Hitech meccas, high end shopping, great night life, and upscale housing.

The bish and rook make for good fights because they are organized. A handful of squads moving back to knights would find many knights would follow them in their missions because winning missions have become so rare for the knights. Especially well organized missions. Even the best of friends eventually want to know who the better man is from time to time. Anyway, you already know how to beat up on the knights because they mostly want to furball and can't seem to keep their CV's off the bottom for very long. Competing against your friends might make for a more interesting game.

Same here. Often there are 2-3 generals calling people to take different bases while knights are being outnumbered and attacked from other countries. The frequent whining usually amuses me, but sometimes it gets tiring and I stop monitoring the textbox. Do people actually think that complaining motivates players to organize? If you don`t get enough players to take a base then do something else. You can make jabo attack missions to pork the ordnance bunkers, fightersweep missions, strats attack or whatever. I don`t mind if the whiners leave, but it is bad if they make others leave.

How about the knights stop with the negative callouts and only use positive or neutral ones.

me, ruaml and others,  took 4 airfields off Bish yesterday in quick succession.   Just sitting in guns and or rolling GV's to resupply didn't work very well for them this time.

However they stole 2 ports and 2 cvs with about 2 players and nits didn't defend them.    :bhead

Then we had fun using grayclif as a punch bag when they tried to horde them from CV's back.  Was a fun couple of hours.    ;)

Nits aren't the problem just lack of leadership.

It is sad that so many see the horde mentality of taking bases as the epitome of "best" in AH.  There are so many things to do, so many different kinds of missions and tasks to accomplish other than a 30v1 horde for a base capture or "4 deh mapz winz!".  If people are so focused on THAT being the the only way to enjoy the game I seriously feel sorry for them.

Anyone can put together a 30 man mission and be successful, but few can put together a 6-10 man mission and execute it perfectly WITH no P51's or P38's, legit defenders, and true precision and follow through.

me and ruaml go way back we used to play kiss chase all the time.  Hated his way of flying because I didn't understand how someone could be so frustrating.

Since he returned he has been on Bish but last night he was having more fun killing them so.  :aok

I swear he is Doom's long lost brother.   Except he flies an LA7 instead of a 190.   Was funny to see them circling a base together, those poor uppers, the weight of 10 Jokers ready to blast them taking off.

But Guess what? they enjoy doing that stuff and don't care and will lie about everything just to make you angry.

oh and btw stop clicking the read this members post button.    :lol
