Ok. Last one ... I promise.
« on: September 28, 2013, 12:52:59 PM »
Once again I am sure this airplane has been talked about many times before but .......

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!  I'll take it as a perk plane as long as it doesn't cost too much when the engines spontaneously combusts and blows the whole ship up.  :x

Don't see why it would be perked.

I assumed it would be perked because in a shallow dive the plane can achieve between 370 to 430 mph. Thus making it a potential game changers similar to the glass nosed Mossie and a harder intercept in the hands of a skilled bomber pilot who knows where and when to do this. This shallow dive technique was widely documented in the Luftwaffe to increase survivability in an ever increasingly hostile sky.

In the previous 30 threads: Its fast, carries a giant bombload, and excellent defensive armaments.
How is it not perked? Has 13k in Ords, faster then b-17 or B-24, and defensive armament is pretty impressive (not sure how it compares to a B17 but I know its defensive ring of fire is 350 degrees (only a small window it cant shoot back).

OH the dive bomber that could not dive, the plane that fell apart for no apparent reason while in flight, the plane that caught fire quite a lot,the aircraft that it's own flight crews feared to fly,the bomber that for all the efforts of it's maker was delegated to a training roll for the most part before wars end.
I am still wondering why it would be perked.

I can't see the image from work and nobody has named it, but I still know it is an He177 from the comments.

Easy to ID that it's a 177.  That being said, it would depend on which variant we get.  The A5 would need a perk tag, while they will just make sure (hopefully not) the A3's engines burn more easily than the B-29's engines did when they first introduced her.  Remember then?  A D3A with just a few pings caught em on fire. :lol

I would imagine that HTC would employ the A5 variant in which all the above mentioned problems are somewhat worked out. I don't know if HTC can or would model the quirks and defects into the aircraft but for a straight up plane that looks cool, is cool and was operational; the 177 would be a neat plane to fly in this MMOG and give the Luftwaffe junkies their own viable heavy bomber.

The R1 or R2 would be an acceptable addition IMHO.  :old:

Excuse me for going full nitpick mode, but the B-29 engines don't burn in AH and never did.
We only have fuel tank fires...
