:(

Sad thing is he showed me the gun just 2 weeks before because he knew I liked to go hunting and to the range once in a while and we talked about it. It was a 357 s&w. And the thing that broke me the most is that I knew where it was in the house. To think if I took it I could have stopped it.

The hardest thing in life for human beings to deal with is the lack of control over things we'd like to have control over.  Know that there have been countless others in your shoes.  Also know that whether you believe in a master plan or pure self determination, the choices that were made were completely out of your hands.

Not possible for you to have done that. You have to get beyond this and live a great productive life knowing how precious and valuable life is, imho.

I do my best to not think of that. Like triton said I can't control what happened as much if like. I live everyday for them and do what's best to honor them.

:salute Jo! I feel the same way. The community in this game goes way beyond just a random bunch of people playing a game. I consider everyone here family. A rather disfunctional family at some points, but that's what makes each day fun.  :D

I have met some really awesome people on this game who come from all corners of the world. I've made a couple of good friends IRL through my life so far, but all of them come from the same town and we all went to the same school. Only in Aces High 2 can I say I have hundreds of friends that come from not only the USA, but from the UK, Germany, Finland, Brazil, Japan, France, Australia, New Zealand and many more!

This game is truly amazing in more ways than one, and I hope to continue playing it until the day I die.

 :salute

Jo when my son was badly wounded in Iraq in 2007 both he and myself recieved a lot of encouragement from the AH community. There are some really great people in this sim, and it is amazing how many of them rally to a member going throuhgh a rough patch.

Glad your still here with us Jo, I like to think what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, great group of guys to be found here, too many times I have detuned 200 and lowered Vox so I could just play some tunes an fly in our cartoon world.

If anything your post has caused me to think what muzik said, some may be going through some devastating times in their life and just need an ear to listen.

JO,

I've watched you since day one kiddo.  Proud of ya...real proud of ya.   :salute

We've all seen it a thousand times...but it's worth repeating.

So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide.

Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none.

When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

<S> Joach1m.  I'm glad that when I returned last year I was able to successfully woo you into the squad -- it has been a hoot so far, even if sporadic.  Talent is good, but a good attitude is more important.  Having both is... rare.  Consider yourself among the few!
