Rescued Pilots

  Again, after a mission last night, 11-18, the issue of downed pilots once again should be addressed! We had a dual mission last night to Bish strats, 8 sectors deep into "Indian country" and because of the bravery and skill of our escort fighters, most of the bomber elements RTB'd OK.
One of our escort pilots Redtail7 ran out of fuel and had to bail, 5 sectors deep into the enemy land. I sent C-47's to rescue him by landing, picking him up and returning him to home plate. Many other pilots were involved in helping "BigFred" in landing on a mountain side, taking off, flying skillfully on the deck and returning Redtail7 to base. Problem was this: in order for Redtail7 to "join" BigFred's C-47, he had to end his sortie, then click on join in the roster, which then put him in the C-47 for the return trip home.
Now here is a pilot, Redtail7, who had to suffer a capture on his record in AH, when in fact, he took off from his base and returned to his base.
I would like to see AH add the ability to join another aircraft, when the pilot is on the ground, with out having to end his sortie. The player would have to be on the ground, not have the ability to jump from one aircraft to another, but if on the ground, be able to join the rescue aircraft, even if it is a fighter aircraft.
There have been rescued pilots retrieved that way in real life, so why not in Aces High?

The main issue with something like this is that its for "fun". Yes fun, a word that is lost a lot in this game. People just want kills and not worry about doing these other things. I for one agree with this it would be "fun"

because nobody actually dies nor spends the rest of the war as a p.o.w?

in special events with single life, it could be something workable but for the main arenas where there are zero restrictions on how many times you get shot down, rescue has zero use.

-1  If it is for fun then why does it matter if "he had to suffer a capture on his record" ?  If they want to do this and have fun doing it then they succeeded.  Why does it always have to be about the score if it's just for fun?  I do not want the code changed.  The next thing that will happen is as an enemy is engaged, some will bail to deny you a kill then wait to be rescued to keep that "score" untarnished.
