Happy Doctor Who Day.
« on: November 23, 2013, 11:03:58 AM »
One episode featured Spitfires with frickin' laser beams. One of the Doctor's companions flew in the Battle of Britain.

I'll be back when I'm done geeking out.  :D

That episode pisssed me off soooooo badly. One does not simply call The Doctor on the telephone.

That and the spitfires in space completely violated the laws of physics. Blowing your own sail B.S.  :furious.

didn't see it in 3D but thought it was a great episode! I loved the twist of the Time War (Not going to say anymore for Spoiler referances) and the final Cameo appearance was great!

Also loved the shot of Capaldi! That was amazing and had me screaming!

TankAce, The Doctor has ALWAYS been contactable by phone, at least in New Who. Eccleston, Tennant and Smith have ALL been phoned at one point or another.

IIRC, Eccleston was only "telephoned" by the empty child, which could use anything with a speaker grill to communicate as well.

Can't recall Smith having been telephoned  :headscratch:....

Give them adamantium wings and the deathstar's super lazer for all I care. Just acknowledge that a prop would not function as a means of propulsion in space, even if it was operating in a self contained bubble of air.

Smith was phoned at least by Marilyn Monroe in the Christmas Carol special, and probably others. If you watch the episode where they first show the spitfires in space, they were fitted with special equipment to allow space flight.

Apparently Winston Churchill, one of the Princes of Wales, and Kate Lethbridge-Stewart also have the Doctor on speed dial.

Smith has been phoned by Churchill, Munroe, the Prince of Wales, the Queen, Kate Lethbridge stewart, the King of some planet (It is never specified) and a couple others.

If anything Smith has been phoned more than the others.

Eccleston was 'Phoned' by the child but also by another if I remember. Tennant mainly recieved calls from Tylors family. But there is a phone in the TARDIS that receives calls.

Yeah I'm still in awe of it. Still trying to process everything. It was much more of a success than I'd hoped for. John Hurt, Tennant and Smith, Bad Wolf, and holy crap there's 13 of them??? Just to name a few things that were awesome.
