Not as far as I cold figure. Due to the time streams being all mixed up with the 3 Doctors, none of them will remember what has happened. But I will need to rewatch the episode to make sure of that.

Nah, time stream meant everyone forgets. A little convenient, else they would effectively be different doctors with less emotional baggage. I wish Hurt would have been seen to regenerate into Eccleston, just for continuity sake. All 13 doctors converging on Gallifrey was pretty spine tingling.I watched the episode in HD as well as 3D, Its ok, but watching it in 3D is a must

To clarify, Doctors 9 and 10  (original, non-war Doctor numbering) still have guilty consciences because they don't remember what happened. Eleven now knows what happened and can act guilt free, as will his successor. The most interesting question is how far Capaldi's Doctor will be willing to go to get Gallifrey back.

Just watched it.

Was pretty good, much better written IMO then most of the "new-Who" episodes.  I do hope they go back to the story format of the old Who, with stories spanning several episodes.  Most of the new ones stories seem so rushed to fit the 43 minute time constraints, the way I see it, write good stories and however long it takes to tell, well that's what it takes.

Without giving away spoilers let me just say that the "curator" made the show for me.  As soon as I heard the voice I was like "Is it... sounds like...  did they..."  Then when they showed him I was 


Also what on earth happened to Billie Piper's jaw???  She used to have a lovely face, now she seems to have a horrific overbite.

Had a thought about that. We know the Time Lords can reset regenerations. They did it with the Master. I forsee in Series 8 or 9, Capaldi making it to Gallifrey. I reckon in the next few series we will revisit Gallifrey (Remember The Doctor went there several times in Classic Who) and as a reward for saving them from the Time War, they will reset his regenerations. Issue solved of Capaldi being the final reincarnation of the Doctor plus allows us to see Gallifrey in all it's beauty.

No you see this is a common myth, but no where does it say that River gave her regenerations to The Doctor. The words uttered to explain what happened are

"Apparantly you used all of your remaining regenerations in one go. You shouldn't have done that"

No where is it stated that she gave him her regenerations. So I don't think that is the answer around how he will get past the 13 lives rule. I thought this as well at first, but upon rewatching it several times I think she simply sacrificed her lives to counter the poison. Remember the poison stopped regeneration which is why it would have killed the Doctor. So it would need massive ammounts of regeneration energy to counteract it. I don't it would have given him enough energy to have more regenerations.

Plus River is never a full Time Lord. She is Human, Plus Time Lord. Therefore she may not have the full powers that the Doctor has in the first place so may not have been able to regenerate as many times.

he'll get around it the same way he cheated death in "The impossible astronaut?" i think was the title? the one where he outsmarts the silents. in the beginning of that episode, he's killed by the lake by an astronaut that walks out of the lake....zaps him, then as he starts to regenerate, he's zapped again. the gang gathers at an eatery, and who pops outta the bathroom? the doctor of course.

The Daily Mirror had an interesting article about this. Although I don't trust it as a source, the regeneration issue is actually more complex than that. Since the inclusion of the War Doctor, the current Doctor is actually on his 12th body. However, the Tenth Doctor apparently used up a regeneration in the episode "The Stolen Earth", after he was shot by a Dalek. Being attached to his appearance for some reason, he healed himself and siphoned off energy to...well...a previously severed hand, which grew into a half human, half Time Lord clone of himself. If this is the case, then the current Doctor has used up all of his regenerations and is on his 13th and last body, which means...they need to be clever, since we already know there's going to be another Doctor after Smith leaves at Christmas.
