An excellent response, sir.
I have no idea how to get more people. I am in desperation mode here. We need to brainstorm. Nothing lasts forever, but I sure would like AH to be here if I ever get to retire!

We need to think hard and bring in outside advice from people with no connection to the game for a fresh eye perspective.
Maybe I should be calm until the graphics engine in development comes out............
This is such a great game. I hate seeing it die.....
We all want the game to stay here for a long time to come.
I can guess what would be said from the 'fresh eye perspective'.
Graphics
Making it easier to play
Even with the more modern games of today, like Battlefield 4 or Call of Duty Ghosts, players are criticizing the graphics when they already look nice. The problem is, is that gamers today (this generation, mind you) are used to having eye-candy over quality. Sure, it might be pretty, but is the storyline better than the last 5? Are the weapons balanced? Etc etc.
As long as it looks good it has to be good! If it doesn't look good, then it isn't worth my time. << is the mentality of many gamers.
Many who I have shown Aces High II to have judged it based on it's graphics. And if I got them to play, by it's difficulty.
The game is hard, by today's standards. It really is, but it is rewarding when you accomplish something.
If you know what you are doing, everything is easy. I think we as a community need to take a good look at what we can do to make it easier for new guys to come in and learn the game. To see what HTC can add to make it easier to understand and then use that information.
It's a delicate balance and an icy road. I think it is doable though, it will just require patience, understanding, and constructive criticism, instead of insults and tearing others down.
