Carrier deck obstructions
« on: December 09, 2013, 02:11:17 PM »
Please make the CAG happy and drop the safety chains and raise the hanger elevator on the carrier. It is not like you would have ever launched or recovered aircraft in that configuration, not even sure why it was modeled that way to begin with...  :headscratch:

Crisis, not so much. If it's an easy code, though, sure, why not? +1

Speaking of the CV (and in fact, the TG ships in general), shouldn't its deck be painted? As clearly visible in Rino's pic, US ships didn't leave their wooden decks unpainted but would have instead been 20-B Deck Blue (http://paintfinder.ehaltom.com/paint/Testors-Model-Master-2159-20-B-Weather-Deck-Blue-USN/2428 even gives the RGB values).
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Isn't the lowered aircraft elevator the location that we pick our plane on the CVs?

Yes. That would be the CV hangar deck.

The craziest thing I see in Rino's picture is either the island is on the wrong side or they are launching planes backwards.  Actually the image is flipped and the plane in the foreground is 85 not 28.  :)

Yes, but the aircraft is sitting on that elevator.  If it were raised HTC would need to redo the hangar selection location.
