I keep almost buying this on steam.  Enough bugs worked out to make it worth it now?

Actually, yeah. The game is pretty fun. 

There is still the occasional getting stuck in a wall, and glitching into the floor, but it's still and alpha. Bohemia is working to smash bugs left and right. And they've been doing a darn good job!

The game is fun, but the other players a total pain in the [insert word here].

People who try to kill other are everywhere! I get shot in the back so many times I almost have to turn around ever 3 seconds!

Tip: Stay away from Elektro. Most hostile city ever.

You are forgetting, Dayz Standalone is in Alpha mode, there are no vehicles, very few weapons - very few zombies right now, give it a few months to get put together and its going to be one hell of a game.
