Over the years the source for this request is usually a squad identifies something juicy to go grief in a mass 262 raid and discovers about half it's members can't meet the perk cost.

Then the wish is couched from the position of pious charity towards the whole of the community.

Dad, I promise if you let me use the Ferrari to take my date to the prom, I won't drive it over 55 on the freeway.

Except Dad too was once a teenager with a hot date for the prom back when condoms were made from lamb skin and two horse chariots were called Appian Way demons.

Creates an 'economy'.  Could be abused.

'Join my squad!  Use my perks!  Only $5 a month at AHperkfarmers.com!'

Other than that, meh.

Wiley.

Even a scrub like me has over 20,000 fighter perks.  Time to start my leet 262 squad website.  Only $25/month gets you unlimited 262s!   ;)

Absoultely.  If I spend all my game time shade vulching in Early War, I could soon retire to a lifetime of frivolity!

I know you normally just spend time spamming your squad thread to keep it relevant, but if your going to post here.. more then a nope would be appreciated as I am curious about peoples reasons behind the yes or no's.

NOPE, work for them just like everyone else did. To get perk points is part if the game!

This has been discussed at length many times.. in the spirit of not reinventing the wheel, here's a little history.

Lots of good reading in all the threads.

Like vudu said, this ain't Eve online.. anyone who thinks there would be a highly successful market for selling perks in this way is out of their mind. The player base is way to small to support anything like that.

Don't care much for the idea. Instead of hordes of 38s and 51s, there would be hordes of C-Hogs and Temps. I have somewhere aroud 30k of fighter perks. I could run a ton of suicide missions with that.

no, but there would be someone doing it to some degree, and hitech has said before he doesn't want a perk economy.. if he did, he'd just sell perks himself..

Good points, but it opens the door to head in that direction.  Not sure how many online games you've played, but in ones that have money/equipment that's tradeable, there's nearly always people sitting around spamming the channels asking if anybody can spare some.  Virtual panhandlers...  Don't know why someone would pay for a game to do that but it happens.  That's what would start happening on country channel.

It might not be on as grand a scale as other games, but it would happen.

to many to list, I am well aware of the gold farming type actions people are referring to and what that does to games, I just can't see it here. But I appreciate all responses, both positive and negative.

If you think I was serious, you might need to get back inside your mind.  :P

Exaggeration aside, it still would be abused and proliferate greatly.  Even if it couldn't be abused that way (which can't be prevented), someone with a lot of perks could easily unbalance things with mass C-Hog/B-29/TigerII raids.  Perk planes are rare for a reason.  Having swarms of them is not good for gameplay.  Let people earn their own perks.

On that post I wasn't so much talking about the farmers as the guys spamming the channels asking for stuff.  In this particular game, I think that would be more of an issue than farming for profit, though some might try it.

I believe it would incentivize Squad play, which I like. The difference between a squad and a horde is intention, aircraft, conduct, etc. It creates a better, larger community actively engaged in activities that would resemble what took place in WW2. I mean, isn't that why we all signed up for this maddening game in the first place? If we wanted arcade we'd do that World of Crapfest thing....and my self imposed moratorium is almost over. Something like this would help it end sooner.
