The Good Side of not changing Countries
« on: February 26, 2014, 03:34:59 PM »
I have been a Rook over a year now.  After a year you start getting to know people having heard them talk on the Vox many times over.  You hear funny things and sad things sometimes.  Each time you get a little piece of their life.  Not a lot, but just enough to start drawing a mental image be it right or wrong.

My wife even knows some of the names now.

Probably want ever change counties I figure.

There are even more people, and even more stories, in the other countries.

Flying for different countries offers a chance to fly with other people and make friends and get a different slice to the game. I have flown( crashed) for all three countries but have spent majority of time on the rooks and I agree with lunatic and Oldman. I think some people get turned off to the notion of switching countries because they may be looked as spies ( I said it ) and hence being riddiculed. I remember when the old Rolling Thunder were invited to fly rook and they came over for an hour or two.

I am a Bishop, but my squad switches around for numbers.   I try not to fight against my Bish friends but have to say I don't hate the Knits and Rooks as much now that I have flown with them.  As DmdFess says, "We are all friends here, mate."

The good side of changing countries is that you get friends and enemies on every chess piece :)

Plus people start frothing at the mouth and calling you a spy (or worse - I was once accused of being ManAWar :D) when you talk on country channel, which is fun in a troll-ish kind of way

The good side of not changing countries is that you can continue to spout nonsense like

"they never fight each other",
"ENY is totally biased against us all the time",
"they NEVER fight, only horde & run",
"only we are never organized",
"we never win a map"
"(insert country) are alt monkeys/bomb****s/etc"
"HT openly favors (insert country)"

and so on without ever realizing you're just a moron  :rock

The amusing thing about people who change countries is they ridicule you for something when on an opposing country. Yet never seem to mind and will even say thank you when they are playing on the same side and you cover and/or save their arse by doing the exact same thing they ridiculed you for a week prior.

Who says that?

Idiots

By that I mean 75% of the ingame population of Aces High, regardless of chess piece affiliation

Well I can only speak for RookLand but I never hear anyone who cares about who plays what side. At most one or two names have been mentioned as having remarkable psychic abilities about enemy locations but Ive never heard broad accusations. Because....who cares? Who cares how whomever spends their $15?

To make a statement that 1/2 the game does is just silly. Dont accuse the 99% for the silliness of the 1%.
