What has said water to do with the Gloster Meteor?
What does the Gloster Meteor have to do with my Atom bombs?

Was I not supposed to speak about those?

Guys I think these graphics updates are being demonstrated on a very basic system.  Skuzzy posted that comment in one of the earlier preview threads.

Dont be scared  :D

The resolution seems pretty low....

BUT WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO PLAY ON MY COMMODORE 64? IF NOT IT'S NOT FAIR AND NOBODY SHOULD HAVE ANY UPDATES.  :cry

That's pretty much the attitude around here.

Not really. I don't mind the updates.  But not everyone can afford to upgrade computers.  If it got to the point to where I couldn't play, I'd just wait until I could afford a new computer.  Right now with me driving an hour every day to finish up my BS, that's not going to happen.

Just watched Cars II tonight.  How neat would it be to have water like that in the opening scene.  No telling how much computer power it would take to run that.  Rough ditching though.

An added curiosity, how will it interact with the current (no pun intended) underwater tiles?  Some of these tiles (hope I am using the correct terrain term) have provided some very exotic illusions of changes in water color, coral reefs, beaches and shorelines.

Regardless of whether or not some of the current effects from maps like Grinder, would disappear, this is a remarkable improvement.  I guess, my hopes are that the water engine or injun  :headscratch: (dumbfounded about how this is all achieved) is displayed as a reflective opaque surface.

In the video, which I am about to watch again (this time with my motion sickness pill  :x ) I am going to pay more attention to the zoom in and out effects.  Also, the closeups, at first viewing, appeared to be reflective of clouds (was I mistaken?).

{edit}

After another look, the sky, sun and horizon all look to be very realistically reflective (in and out of zoom).  So, if I am right, the reflections would be an opaque masque that produces the wonderfully desirable 3D motion presented in the video, yet preserving the underwater tiles.  (Very pleasing to me = Chesapeake Bay area resident).

Undecided at this point, the effects you are speaking of are the next piece of the water development.
