Typhoon Mk Ia was to carry twelve .303s, but I am not sure any were even made, let alone saw combat.

Certainly no Tempest was ever planned to carry .303s as the RAF had long since become comfortable with the 20mm by the time the Tempest was in production.
early typhoons had the 303s on some. they got at least one kill with this package. After only a short time all typhs had the 20s.

I remember accidentally shooting down a Bf110G-2 with the Mossie's .303s while I still had a full load of 20mm ammo.  Accidentally only fired the primary guns, still managed to take his right wing off in one pass, one long pass.
I shot down an A20 with the mossie peashooters. took well over 2000 rounds of them. death by 2000 paper cuts :)
