It was quite a few years ago that night was removed and a lot of people seem to be interested in trying it. I think we should give it a try again for a week or so with maybe 30 minutes of night every few hours. If people decide they don't like it again no harm done.

Could be specific days and hours only : like 2 or 3 hours long on friday, or wednesday, or...  :noid

I agree with ReVo and Lucifer, we could do something like 1 hour of nighttime every other day...... Something like that.

chill dafuq out dude. this is wishlist forum. The opinions of the players years ago are not necessarily the opinions of those playing today.

Not everyone knows to search before hand, and frankly they don't have to. So deal with it.

Hitech came in, told us what was up and why night ain't happening. The way you posted was more annoying then just having to read another night wish.

By your reasoning any wish previously posted, means we should just go with the opinions of that thread at that time, since creating an identical wish apparently gets your panties twisted.

The point is if people would search the boards BEFORE posting they would find a bunch of info on the issue they are questioning or requesting. Reading these other post may enlighten them as to the hows and whys of things in this game. If someone has a new approach at an old idea by all means post it.

However posting every little idea that pops into your head makes for an annoying community poster who soon become the butt of many jokes and has fewer and fewer people looking at, never mind considering, their posts as anything other than another waste of ones time.

As in every community, there is a point where the "new" people should be shown a better way to do things. I pointed out the better way.

Fugi,

Change for the novelty factor regardless of the outcome, is a normal desire by many who don't have to pay their employees on time every two weeks. As the customer, $14.95 entitles them to an opinion since this is the "Wishlist". As you can see many customers dislike defending their momentary urges made public in the arena of ideas visa socratic spirited debate. As urges are just that, opposed to spirited debatable ideas not defended by, you are an irrelevant old meeny and go fudge yourself because you are old and useless.

There is not 1:1 causation to caring about the health of HTC or the unintended consequences in most of these wishes beyond the gee gollee wouldn't that be neat factor. We will never know how many golly gees inspired Hitech, or why keep the wishlist forum alive. For us long time players to intervene with our experience, or link Hitech's past responses to these clones of clones of cloned desires by subsequent new players. Is more likely to result in finding out how much some hate most people older than themselves for getting in the way of their instant gratification, and genius level displays of accumulated wisdom. I'm always shockingly humbled by these displays like edified in this post.

Unfortunately, at some point Hitech really has to intervene before the wishlist turns into a ridiculous generational blood bath of spirited exuberant intolerance.

I don't have a problem with anyone wanting to play in the dark. I have a problem with it being shoved down my throat. Been there. It sucked.  I've made this challenge before and I'll do it again here. Those that want to "test" night can go right ahead and set up a custom arena (once that's possible again--I know there's a problem with it now). Advertise the crap out of it. If there's a handful of people that enjoy it fine. I guarantee there won't be more than that. Have at it.

Fugi,

As you can see, socratic debate sadly succeeds in eluding blu to the extreme. I suspect from this point on some form of screeching like a digested food slinging fight in the primate house will ensue. I would recommend donning your NorWester  and hip boots. Possibly batten down a few hatches. Maybe ask one of your sons to translate.

not entirely true.  we have night on xmas eve for about 2 or 3 hours.  numbers dont drop but only because hitech flies around and we all act like little kids who drank way too much.

then again it's xmas.  after hitech does his yearly flight all the little drunk kids fall asleep pretty fast. and the numbers drop like they did several years ago.

The majority of people did not like it. So much so that there was a significant drop in numbers when night was running. And hence it no longer is the norm in the main arena.

HiTech
So could you make it 1 nite a week for an hour? True nite like Christmas?

I don't remember that ever being in the game.....

I remember a quassi Day/Night that we all had to adjust our gamma for but it never fully blacked out like we have on Christmas Eve.

Christmas eve is NOT blacked out.. its basically daytime with a dark sky (the ground is fully lit)..

Ive flown in a special event where it was truly blacked out as the CM had entered a wrong value or something.. it was unplayable.

I'm not going to quibble if the moon is up or not and who cares what some CM did

Compared to the "night" we had it is ....they are two totally different things.

We have never had Christmas eve night <darkness> in the main arena...except for Christmas eve...

Is that clear enough for you?

yeah and I don't even care. it doesn't make any difference, because xmas eve "nighttime" is basically just dusk with dark blue sky color.

FFS, the terrain is still green. that is not "night".
