CH USB Glitching out
« on: March 23, 2014, 09:10:50 PM »
Heya all,

Anyone have a solution for this.  Stick and throttle keep glitching out.  In windows when I try to use the throttle it cuts off halfway along the axis and I get a popup saying "your game controller is not connected properly" and it quickly disconnects and then reconnects in windows.  Very weird.  In Aces High my stick will stop working then start working again, and hat views get stuck in certain positions.  I tried different ports, etc... really frustrating...

Thanks for any advice..

Are you using a powered USB hub? If not you should. The other thing to check is to see if your USB is shutting down to save energy. You can check that in the Device Manager.

You can also try raising the priority of the CH software in task manager. I haven't used my CH stuff in a long time, so I do not remember the file name itself.

Nath,
How old or new is your CH stick and throttle?

If you have had them for a good while and used them a lot, you might need to open them up and spray the parts and pots with some non-conductive electrical cleaner ... CRC makes a good version of this... Drano just did some cleanup & preventive maintenance on his recently... You can get the cleaner at radio shack, Lowe's, Home Depot, maybe even Walmart... Their are other brand names of it besides CRC
also I agree with what Del and Fugi posted

Hope this helps...

Hi all

I opened up my throttle and one of the wires was severed from the throttle axis.  so I reattached it.  it was glitching out the entire setup apparently.

any recommendations on reattaching the two wire ends w/o soldering?

No. I had the same problem, traced the pathway, and soldered it directly to the board itself.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

 Nath,

You could try a crimp connector,if you can find a small enough one.  Personally I'd solder the ends and use a shrink wrap to clean it up!

You could add a small piece of wire. It would give you enough room to just twist the ends and then tape them off. Personally I'd solder them and shrink wrap them.
