Mate only a savage would use tomato sauce over ketchup as a condiment. Even worse would be mayonnaise. Mayo has its uses but to drag something like french fries thru it is so Neanderthal it defies the senses. Tomato sauce belongs in spaghetti sauce and thats about it.

I mix 1/2 mayo and 1/2 ketchup.  only way to eat french fries.

Warning on chipotle, a product you should always have ready. :lol http://youtu.be/7FTWZyoYo48

My absolute favorite part of that whole bit is the, "Have you tried chipotle? ...It's pretty good."  Not the BEST THING EVER, just pretty good.

Ketchipotle intrigues me...  Must see if I can locate that item.

On fries, Heinz ketchup.  Not sure if I've just been brainwashed but it's the only one that tastes 'right'.

I've never had ketchup.

You should try a coca cola while you're at it too!

Making your own ketchup is time consuming and a pain......but...

You can add things like garlic, dehydrated onions, cayenne....and come up with something AWESOME.

They are not really comparable
Tomato sauce is really good
Ketchup is good too because of the vinegar and such, it's tangy. But it's also usually got a lot of sugar in it, especially like Heinz
But they're not interchangeable on most things
Ketchup on pasta would be awful, I can't even imagine.
Tomato sauce on a burger could potentially work, but you just need a more acidic/bitter flavor than that from something. Better to use a tomato and ketchup or preferably something else (mustard, mayonnaise) rather than tomato sauce.

Mustard is by far the best condiment though.

Best for dipping french fries is
horseradish mayo

Ketchup is
fine but just not that great
I usually use it on french fries pretty much only. Mayo feels too artery-clogging and indulgent most of the time, even thought it's the best. Too many fries + mayo makes me feel a bit sick I think
