Tomato sauce or ketchup?

I've never had ketchup... I saw some on a shelf today and I was wondering which is the better condiment?

In the USA, ketchup is a major condiment.  Very common on hamburgers and a dip for french fries.  Tomato sauce is used to make other things so it is more of a cooking ingredient.

Ketchup has a ton of sugar in it too. I've been trying some of the Heinz "limited edition" varieties. The jalapeno and balsamic are quite good.

Mate only a savage would use tomato sauce over ketchup as a condiment. Even worse would be mayonnaise. Mayo has its uses but to drag something like french fries thru it is so Neanderthal it defies the senses. Tomato sauce belongs in spaghetti sauce and thats about it.
