Wonder how it turns with the Brewster and the Ki43?

Empty weights has the Lysander about 33% lower wing loading (not that it's a fighter of course). Going to need a sick-bag to fight in this one  :joystick:

But, there will be AH sticks who will make sure a kill on them goes into the annals of "ROLF" at the expense of the killers. And those poor GVers will lobby to have the bombs removed form this one. So these are 100lb bombs....wonder what they will do to engine hatches??

Good point. I hadn't really considered 100lb bombs on this thing, just the little antipersonnel bombs which would really only be effective vs jeeps and maybe the halftracks. Of course the 1000ft flight to arm rule for the 100lb bomb would present a bit of a challenge. I wouldn't make that an option in AH myself.

Thanks all for considering the Lysander!

100lbs onto the top of a tank would almost certainly knock it out. HE arty rounds with vastly less explosive yield, routinely destroyed armoured vehicles :old:

I've hit a Tiger I with a 500lb bomb in AH (got a hit sprite) and didn't kill it.  The second bomb I dropped at the same time exploded right next to the Tiger and also didn't kill it.

Where did you hit it?  I've seen some screenies of a HVAR hitting the top of the turret and knocking out a Tiger.

Long time ago, but I think it was either on the side, top deck or side of the turret.

With a 500lb bomb it really ought not to have mattered.

Probably would be best if the Lysander, with its greater offensive capabilities than the storch, would be considered as an airfield-only spotter aircraft. I think the allies need a gv field spotter aircraft, like the L4 Grasshopper.

I don't bomb Gv's much because I have dire accuracy. Nevertheless, if a 100lb he dropped onto the top of almost any modern GV, then your example suggests some issues with GV Integrity

One of the ugliest planes ever built.  I would be glad to shoot them down.
