What if HTC just got rid of the General Discussion forum? The majority of the posts are either moved, locked, or ankle humping one person or another as it is. Leave the rest of the forums as it would be more of a "Support" type community then.

Makes a good honey pot to keep the worst of it in one place. If the general forum were eliminated, the other information and help forums would devolve into the same thing you are trying to head off.

Sadly this is probably true. I think its a bad image for new comers to look into the forums and see nothing but drama in the 2nd most posted in forum on this BBS.

Offering in a solution only ends in a derailed thread worthless of any further input.

Had multiple suggestions regarding this.

I was very disheartened to see a public challenge thread get locked, it was quite entertaining.

In the fifteen years we have had a bulletin board, those threads have never ended well.  So we lock them, or people ended getting themselves banned from the board along with all the ensuing,  "Skuzzy sucks!" messages we get, or get posted at other places.

People will talk about me, behind my back, no matter what happens, so I figure we might as well do what we can to keep this board civil.

Like HiTech recently said, sometimes we are damned if we do, and damned if we don't.

Oh, I do not mind it.  People wasting their time talking about me behind my back is just part of the business.  I cannot say what I really think, or I would have to "rule #4" myself. Suffice it to say, people who talk about others behind their backs are not worth my time.

We would rather put our energies into those who really want to help make a difference, in a good way.

We (HTC) do appreciate our players and are mostly proud of what we have here.  Staying proud of it, is part of what drives us.
