« on: May 26, 2014, 10:10:46 AM »
I am getting a new computer with a much better video card.  If I save my Settings folder I should able to just copy it into AH folder on the new computer right?

yes, and you should grab the terrains and skins folders as well just to save on download time. They will be "updated" when you first log on but you won't have to download them again.

Here's a link to a list of keyboard commands you can print for AH.

It's one of the downloads on the Trainer's page "One Page Quick Reference". I'd credit it if I knew who made it.

there's some files from your settings folder that you shouldnt copy.  I cant remember what they are but there's 4 or 5 that will mess up with your game.

You should not install "world.cfg", "freq.cfg", "sysinfo.cfg", and "video8.cfg" from a different computer.  Those files contain information specific to the computer the game is running on.

OK so I should just cut them out of my saved settings folder?  Will they be replaced by the game or will I have to cut and paste them from the new settings folder to the saved settings folder, delete the new settings folder and then past in the save settings folder with the new .cfg files?

The game will write new files. Just delete them from the saved folder. You can also copy the whole folder and delete them from the new installation before you run the game the first time on your new PC.

Beware the included Mcafee 30 day free trial anti-virus program. AV programs generally don't play nice with AH. Personally I would uninstall it.
