My brother in law worked for 7-Eleven USA out of Dallas. He was part of the sales force attempting to bring the franchise to mainland China. His strangest observation about traveling to cities in the mainland. No birds, cats, dogs or any small animals for miles.

You guys talk about weird foods in other country but then you eat biscuits and gravy or macaroni and cheese.  and I am not even gonna discuss grits.

that's fricking disgusting.

whenever I go to the cafeteria and somebody asks me to bring biscuits and gravy, I always tell them that it will come back with the "special sauce".  mac and cheese, I cant stand the smell, so I wont even bring it for anybody.

and dont even get me started on having a steak that costs 9 bucks a lb and you drown it with A-1 sauce or any kind of bbq sauce.  I can get spoiled meat drown it in A-1 sauce or bbq sauce and you wont even be able to tell the difference.  you nasty people.

So basically semp prefers eating arthropods rather than food.

this is how it started.

and this is waiting in the fridge to get ready  :x :x :x.

most people remove the nails, but I am too lazy.  I just pull them off right before I eat them, it's easier :).

It's not just China all over Asia they eat exotic foods. I went to Vietnam and Cambodia on my honeymoon. The food in Vietnam was really nice but in Cambodia they were selling all sorts of bugs. Fried grasshoppers being very common. Our guide told us they were delicious and were like popcorn in that once you started eating them you couldn't stop. We took his word for it. In any case he lived in the jungle during the Khmer Rouge days and got used to eating anything he could lay his hands on!
