Bomberdier
« on: July 31, 2014, 03:39:05 PM »
:airplane: How about adding the ability for a 3rd player to join a bomber as just a bombardier, he would not be able to man guns or fly, just calibrate, set salvo's, and of course release bombs on target. As it is now, fighters have a distinct advantage over the bombers when they are calibrating and bombing!
I know, the fighter jocks are going to howl to high heaven over this suggestion, but it is something which needs to done to improve game play!
You would have pilot, plus one gunner and the bombardier!

:airplane: Understand your comment, but there is only 5 or 6 guys in this game which are deadly to get around, if they are in a bomber and not sure if they are that accurate or is it ******* providing the accuracy.
I have only one good eye, but I can't hardly kill a fighter 200 away from me now, so the fighter, at least on me, have the advantage!

And one question, would the bombardier be able to stear the buff from his position like you can now if you look up?

:airplane: I would say that he would be restricted to using the "J" and "L" keys for heading refinement and throttles for speed adjustments!

How will bomber's defend themselves?

It isn't "fair" to an aircraft traveling at 235 to not be able to defend itself. Oh and coalcat, I know from first hand experience that you're only saying this because you have NO idea how to make passes on bombers. Set up an appointment with Snailman or Latrobe.  :neener:

EDIT: And a +1 to this wish.  :D

Hope you have a bit more luck than I did regarding the calibration/bomb drop issue. :salute

What do the guns have to do with the bomberdier?  He said, no gunning.

He said a 3rd player to join as a bombardier, meaning there are already 2 gunners, an with that addition, nether the pilot nor gunner would have to leave the gun positions making it damn near impossible to get near the buffs.

Even the best buff gunners in the game like Shawk and 999000 are vulnerable when you use smart high speed tough angle slashing attacks.

+1 this wish, but make it so the bombardier I the one who gets credit for the damage done.

The bombers in this game are hardly "Death Stars".  Now in Air Warrior, we had Death Stars when people fully manned the guns on a B-17 and then proceeded to use the B-17 as a fighter and out turn any fighter that tried to engage.

Well, the bombardier was also a gunner.

Not that I am against it, but:

What will the bombardier do during most of the flight?
What will the pilot be doing during the bomb run?
If you already have a gunner, since the control of the plane is exclusive in the above two situations one player can do both by moving from one position to the other (and the gunner handles the guns).

I do not mind allowing multiple gunners, which will be more useful perhaps. I know the bombardier was also a gunner on some planes, but having a pilot/bombardier and multiple gunners is perhaps more simple and logical in AH.
