Sorry to see you leave Latrobe. You've always been a huge asset to the community.

Game play is what game play is. The pure dogfight, 1v1 from alt down to the deck is a rare commodity...always has been since I arrived in '02. Take a break. The urge will return to play again....always does.

A HUGE  :salute for your training films. I always found them invaluable.

I can see a one dimensional player getting discouraged with the lower numbers we have these days. Some have not spent 100% of time in fighters to hone the skills needed to compete with a pilot like Latrobe so they opt for survival (cartoon survival) instead.
I myself will try to fight against the best, you don't learn much from those worse than you.

Many though find enjoyment in this game from all the other aspects of it not just WW2 dogfighting. The WW1 arena was great on Wednesday even though I had my tail handed to me but all dogfighting.

<Salute> Latrobe

Somehow I always waited to meet one P51D that made especially well handled turns and make great big surprices and usually ended up shooting me down. Your flying made me try harder, sometimes even forced me to substitute my usual rides to spit16 just out of frustration. Sad to see that you are leaving. Was always glad to have a good fight with ya.

Take ur leave and we will fight again. When the graphics update is out, I know you can not resist the temptation to chk it out :salute

Running seems like a simple tactic to counter most of the time in AH. Simply get in something very fast yourself, and mostly they won't even try to run, and if they do they'll tend to be caught.

However, doing so involves getting out of earlier, more lightly wing-loaded planes and into craft that may not handle as pleasantly. I think this is why so many players complain about runners instead of simply solving the problem by clicking on something fast in the hangar.
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

That is the only reason I play this game - for the fights. I do not care about the war. I do not care about the perks. I do not care about getting kills or landing them. I do not care about the chess piece loyalty. I do not care about bombing or gving.

Sounds like you don't give a Damn. :)  The problem is that you are looking for someone else to have the "fighter pilot" spirit, when you need to look within, you DO care about getting kills, everyone does. But you also care in the manner in which you get them (turn fight vs e fight) Sad that you would rather quit than adapt. Sorry to see you go. Good fights =S=.

The problem is that he's bored.  Life is busy and short.  Everyone has a different take on the game.  Latrobe was always a positive part of AH.  Loves combat, good attitude, helpful and skilled.

He's a player who's loss takes away from the game.

Have fun and nice flying with and against you Latrobe <S>

<<S>> Sir, I sincerely hope you come back at some point.  It'll be a little dimmer not seeing you around the game. Play some games that you enjoy, and hopefully AH will get a little better in the interim.

You make a good point. I guess this is one of the reasons I play all aspects of the game.

Latrobe, I don't think we ever met in combat, but if we did, I likely got a quick trip to the tower.  :salute  See ya in two weeks
