AoM+Friends vs The Damned 5v5

Just wanted to say we had a blast last night. It was our first organized 5v5 and we are happy
with our performance, we learned plenty and will be preparing for more matches soon, if people are up to it.

The players:

The Damned: BeeLowK, Chosen, Fulcrum, Kruel, Skyyr
AoM+Friends: ChangeUp, iKo, Lazer, JB11, Sawzaw


The Score:


(The Damned picked first plane, loser of round picked the next plane).

1st Round: The Damned  selected the LA7      - Winner: AoM+Friends
2nd Round: The Damned  selected the LA7      - Winner: The Damned
3rd Round: AoM+Friends selected the P38      - Winner: AoM+Friends
4th Round: The Damned  selected the Yak3     - Winner: The Damned
5th Round: AoM+Friends selected the P38      - Winner: AoM+Friends
6th Round: The Damned  selected the FW190-D9 - Winner: The Damned
7th Round: AoM+Friends selected the P38      - Winner: AoM+Friends

Final Score 4-3.

If any squads are interested in doing these regularly, please let us know as we would be more than happy to
go at it.

We are planning to start doing these on a regular basis and maybe get some type of squad v squad matches going
soon.


Maybe We can use this thread to maybe solidify/discuss some of the rules:


6K Merge
Cold Pass first, anything goes afterwards
Fuel Load Out: Pilot Discretion
No Ammo Dumping.

Yes it was great fun.  I hadn't had that much fun in a while truthfully.

Round 1 was epic.  We were more than unorganized and everyone got put in the tower but JB11.  It was 4 v 1 and JB walked away.   Epic epic.

Very fun fights...far more so than the LWMA stuff of late.  :aok  

I ran out of fuel during the first match because I chose to take 25% rather than 50%...didn't expect the fight to last that long.  It would have been nice to go down swinging to JB11 rather than gloriously ditching.  :bhead

I still think the fuel load out should not be pilot discretion but rather mutually agreed upon.  That way we both could have ran out of fuel together!  :old:

I came away thinking we need to start flying the P38 a weeeeee bit more....those fights were not even remotely close.   Lazer being there didn't help.  :D

I felt we did well in the other matches, even the one we lost.

It wasn't 4v1 as much as you'd like to think, there were 3 of us up, I was trying to climb since JB11 stayed high, Fulcrum was out of fuel, and Skyyr was a glider from an engine hit. JB did fly well though, we gave that one away sadly.

Sawzaw kept killing me when we were in the P38s....I think he was the one creeping around low.   :mad:


I forsee an unfortunate friendly fire incident in his FSO near future.  Due to a wingman's.....errrrr....."weapon malfunction", of course!  :old:

Pretty sure several were.  The only thing I recorded was some DA clown trying to fly a Spit16 into the fight but he eventually went away.
