Maps, weather

I wish we had a variation of the maps. Smaller maps. Desert maps. Winter maps. Night and weather

Hitech ees coading(birthing) a new order...................haven't you been reading the forums for the last 9 months? New terrain engine in the oven. Alpha testing birthing pains in progress......

Grown men in these forums walking around in circles yelling at Dr. Hitech to hurry it up already because their own phantom birthing pains are unbearable. :t

I agree.  Winter and Desert terrain would be great.  They certainly would make the skins more relevant.  Right now there is little point in using 45% of the skins if you are going to be flying over "Golf Course Green" maps ....boring

Enough with the endless green maps!  Every map is the same. Green green green ....boring.   How about fall? ....early spring w/ traces of snow?  Desert? ...etc etc  ( I have been asking for this for 10 years!!  )

Clouds and weather would be fantastic.  Don't hold your breath though, as most of the bulletin board bullies hate the idea.  God forbid the sky should have clouds!!   How unrealistic!!

The game has a beautiful sunset....of course you will NEVER!...EVER! ...see it in the game ......because people log off when it happens ....I never logged off,  I enjoyed the Day/Night cycle.

I think most didn't like the clouds due to the lag that it caused for older systems and not everyone can just get a new computer at the drop of a hat.

I also believe that HTC will be adding weather elements to Aces High when their New Terrain Engine (NTE) comes out. Due to the previews they shown thus far, I don't see weather being out of the equation. And they said they made it so clouds were rendered better, so it was less strain on lower systems.

I too love the day/night cycle, I greatly enjoyed the Christmas fight with "santa" when it was dark out. It increases my FPS on my old computer to 45+ making it far easier to fight, and it adds more immersion and a sense of realism.

No other game that I play allows this to hold it back.  Yet I have been hearing this for 15years in here.  The whole Aces high Community is held back by a few guys running  Commodore 64's?

It just might be possible that an outdated, not very realistic looking game experience maybe contributing to lower game turn out?  I'm sorry but I'm tired of the game being held back because some folks run it on "Two Cans and some String."

To run Aces High on Maximum settings is pretty tame, compared to other games where the requirements are twice as high.  A rig that will run ACES high well is very very affordable.  Yet a computer that would run World Of Tanks wide open would be 2 times the price.

I'm sorry but clouds in the sky are a must for a flight Sim.  It would be like the ground war having no building, no trees.

But it will never happen because the "antique computer club", will complain...threaten to leave etc etc

I remember back in Air Warrior, my PC sucked so bad I had to fly w/ the stick planes.  That was pretty good motivation for me to save up some money and get a better Computer.  Let me state once again:  The requirements for this game are VERY affordable, compared to other games.

If we had the subscriber base that World of Warcraft has, I wouldn't mind sacrificing a few players who can't or won't upgrade, for some new eye candy.  But flying around a pretty game with boringly low amounts players sounds like a worse option then keeping lower requirements with a healthier number of players.  I imagine HTC would love to have the best looking game in the market, but if he loses 25% of his customers in the process, then we all suffer.  Until we have a much larger player base, I don't mind things being kept a little less good looking as long as we can keep as many players as possible.

The low numbers are here now.  Last time I tried to fly there was 62 players on.   There used to be 400+ players on.  Now 62?

HTC has been using this business model for 15 years.  The results are clear.  If catering to outdated PCs is such a great idea then, where are all the players?

25%??...where do you get this number from? ...It might also be true that Improvements might increase subscriptions by alot.

When ever somebody asks for increased improvements to get more immersive game experience it is always spoken of in negative terms.  You refer to it as eye candy.  Others will accuse me of being a kid....etc etc.  So what should we do?  Go back to 1990 graphics? ...will that pump up numbers?

Frankly we can sit here and rearrange chairs on the Titanic? ... or we could boldly move towards the future?  I vote for future,  because catering to the "antique computer club" sure don't seem to be working.

I have been a paying customer since tour 13, I've seen whats happened here.  I am not trying to be negative.  I believe in HTC.  I would like this game to survive. Sadly it does seem to be very healthy at the moment.  Steps must be taken soon.

We had (some) cool clouds last map, now the "usual" maps are backs with their depressing blue-blue-blue sky... :bhead

I miss the cloud layer at 30k or whatever it was. Looked awesome and fun hiding up above it waiting for someone to fly by.
