My recorded films appear to be ending early

Not sure what the issue is.  The films seem to stop recording roughly 2-3 minutes before I end flight or get shot down. 

Also, if I drop or fire torpedoes, is there a way in film viewer to track the torps to target if I'm flying or boating away?  I tried, but couldn't seem to get the settings to do what I wanted.

When the film stops recording do you get the pop up asking to name the film?
