Nothing more than a way to encourage vulching and avoiding actual ACM. Back in Airwarrior there was some sort of announcement after each kill and everyone knew it meant nothing as the guys racking up the numbers were all hovering over a field in the VoD vulching.
If it matters to you, keep a pen and paper handy and write it down yourself
There seems to be some strange ideal that all AHers should be subscribed to. A set of rules that seems to state that how one can, and should play the game.
Thats not a good way of looking at things.
Some people really do like to fly for score. Myself sort of included (i don't like the current scoring methods) I think it is fun to see how well I can stack up to the other players.
I very much love the ability to rearm. I want to see just how far I can go, how far I can take it against human opponents before one of them gets me. This was one of my biggest complaints of AWIII, there was no ability to rearm. So if I take a 109k in that game I could only expect a few kills at best. A F4U gave alot more ammo so I could get more, and thats what I mostly flew. Because of that.
Some fly for score.
Some fly for killstreaks.
<--as is relevent in this post Some fly for intense dogfights
Some fly for the thrill of hunting bombers over the strats.
Some fly to be that bomber
Etc.
Etc.
Etc.
The point is that it should not matter, because every players flying and fighting style and their enjoyment of the game is different. What is wrong with that? The diversity of allowing a player to play the game how they want is why I play Aces High.
