Saw Fury tonight, was great. This thread is garbage and hypocritical.

Why is it garbage and hypocritical?

lol Seriously.  Me speaking up for others is the reason people are leaving??   You got me there, I have no response to that stupidity.

What I wrote was stupid? Does that mean I am stupid? Thanks. I guess I can go find a belt, and closet because I'm stupid. Stupid is worth nothing in the world. Good bye world.

HTC has always allowed accepted and asked for the Aces High Community to self police itself in-game! period

so what Fess has described in his opening post is within 100% of what HTC expects from the AH community in my personal understanding and view

someone posted that they know of "entire groups of players" who have left because of the so called "HTC allowed governing by Moderators" <---- not quoted word for word by the person who wrote it but still, out of being here since '99, I have yet to see or hear of "entire groups" leaving because of the way the community self polices itself nor how the HTC vetted Moderators do their jobs!

if they left, they left because they did not like hitech's sandbox that he lets us all have the privilege of playing in! or they perhaps lost a few members because of being banned, so the rest left... just guessing

The only thing in this thread that I might not would have typed myself was the comparing in-game text buffer/pm's / vox  back to something that happened the WWII era...... ( I am not trying to back seat moderate here, but people should refresh themselves with what the forum posting rules are, it might help you not get your thread locked... I am thinking of rule 14 I believe??? )

I was not online nor even know of the incident, but I would guess that Fess was not the only person to stand up and call the person out for "bullying", I would assume their were probably some others who backed his call of the situation.....

If somebody is being abusive, and you send Scooby a screenshot of their text, or .ahf file if they say it on voice it will be dealt with swiftly.

It's really that simple.

If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

This post is sickening. Why do people care so much about controlling others and how they play the game? If it is such a problem (PMs, 200, etc) then why aren't those communication avenues closed? Equating this "issue" to why the numbers are declining is ABSURD. The reason I left the game was because of PEOPLE like the poster. Making a thread about bullying? Are you serious? Comparing it to people committing suicide?

I far too often got muted for saying something on 200 that some "mod" found wasn't to their liking. The problem within AH is the governing body! We are all men,(a couple female players) and can handle toejam talking! It is part of the game! Some enjoy it, some don't.....what about the boys during WWII who wrote "Happy Birthday Hitler" on bombs before they dropped them? IT'S HUMAN NATURE.

Let the people play! Let them play the way they want to! Sure, if some says the F-Word, or something of that nature then...fine, lmute them. But don't give the power to some random system of reporting to do the job, or some over zealous MOD. I've seen entire groups of people leave this game, SIMPLY because of the over bearing governing body.

If HiTech wants to save this small niche online game, then they HAVE to get rid of online MODS, first-off. Secondly, get rid of 200 in general! The problems it causes is ridiculous and there is no place for it. Allow PMs but only if the person wants to receive them. The salute system will be the only way to communicate with another person (good job, nice shot, WTG, etc). Another thing that would need to be fixed is the ability of a squad to mute a player simply through mass .reports. In the posters world, this could be considered bullying, and I have personally seen it done.

If you are truly worried about declining numbers then fix what is broken and stop trying to micro-manage EVERY SINGLE COMMUNICATION IN THE GAME!

I spend the first 10 minutes after logging in on squelching players that seem to enjoy going out of their way to harass other players. Thats because I just don't want to be bothered by their childish behavior. If your getting muted when you played, then you went over the line, and to some of us, that line is a bit too lenient. If you can't control your self even a bit then you deserve to be muted. There is always some Ahole that goes over board and ruins the party for everyone else. Time to grow up and be a bit more responsible.

But we are talking bulling here, not the general smack talk that goes on. When it is taken to far and the attacks become personal they MUST be dealt with. An on line game isn't like real life (nor war time   ) If someone wants to get personal I can take it outside and "handle it like a man" as some of you say, but in the game there isn't that option. If that option was available here I bet you'd see a lot less Aholes in the game, most likely because they would get tired of getting the crap knocked out of them.

This is HTC playground and EVERYONE has to play by their rules. Whether you read contract you agreed to when you signed up or not that is the way it is. If you can't play nice, you cant play at all.

Luckily 'most' players see a nasty PM as comedic childishness.
The best response is usually no response at all.

Some take it as an acknowledgement of their skill being accused of cheating, aimbot or hacking.

.squelch playerID
.report playerID

then return to normal gaming letting the <bully> get filled all up with spite and bile that you're not responding.  It's his blood pressure, not yours, leave him to it.

This thread is garbage because it serves no purpose, if an act was so bad that you needed to make a thread about it...

.report is all you needed to type

200 is detonable Waystin2 plays this game without using 200 and he has isn't missing anything

Now as far as the hypocritical stuff, it is a lot of the players who have came in here trying to take the high and mighty route....but I can say I have seen them talking crap about some noob hiding in the AAA or flopping around like a fish.

As TC said, HTC likes us to police our own, so if you see something that deserves a .report (Like talking politics on 200) then do it

As explained earlier, .report does nothing in this context.

Since when is it the object of this game to humiliate people?

The object of the game is to piss the other guy off. 200 is worth the $14.95 a month in itself.  :x
