Eyecandy / immersion wish for bomber drones
« on: October 18, 2014, 04:52:20 PM »
If you kill a vital part of a bomber drone, like a wingtip, it will just explode. This insta-boom is not very 'convincing' in my opinion.
How about giving that drone the same death spiral animation in such a case, as if the pilot had just bailed from it? Maybe even with some parachutes deploying from it (only for a few seconds to prevent any confusion)?

+1 (though I never presume any coding is 'easy').

Also, please update the plane explosions to include more parts and pieces flying out.

+1 nice idea.  I've been watching a lot of 12'O Click High lately and they spinning B-17 footage pretty much tells you what you need to know.

I'd settle for drones that didn't warp out of my bullet streams because the lead plane was wiggling all over the place.

I dont think chutes bailing out should be included.  imagine you have b17's over the town and you bail out or the drones get killed and you have troops standing by.  now you gotta go in and figure out which of the chutes is the pilot that can kill your troops.

Read what you quoted all the way to the end.

yes for a few seconds you have multiple chutes deploying along with a pilot that can kill your troops.   it's very easy to not see a pilot bailing out as it is, if you are trying to destroy the last few airplanes.  now imagine looking around trying to figure out which is the one that didnt disappear.

Yeah, the defenders are gonna up bombers in hopes that they'll be shot down so a player can use that to stealthily gain access to their own map room and lay in wait. Methinks there's a flaw in this overly complex plan when there's so many more efficient ways to accomplish that.

Well there you go. Your argument is rather redundant in light of such. Your fears are already a part of the game.  :)
