This or the one Karaya posted - yes, IMO either are among the better options for bang for the buck, and it's a lot of bang right now. Some of the stuff is personal pref and can easily be switched about without getting too much off track with regards to price, but for 1000-1300$, you should be able to get a system that smokes your current one Golfer. The 970 card is fantastic for the $, it's been a long time since something so powerful and such a jump over previous offerings has been this cheap, I've seen them under 300$ now if you look about, and that is NUTS, considering what the 300$ cards were like this time last year by comparison.
IMO so long as you get decent ram, a decent drive, either a hybrid, decent spinner, or smaller/less expensive SSD, a reasonably decent MB/CPU combo as above, a decent PSU, and whatever you like so far as case goes - putting all this together with the 970 will make PC gaming a very happy experience with your first boot up.
