You don't really get the virtual immersion that way though.

That's true, and it is VERY immersive with the DK2, but playability suffers greatly due to the lower resolution. Just looking around the cockpit was awesome and the immersion was so perfect that when I looked down at my left arm it actually felt like my arm was there. It was a bit eerie! I also missed when trying to grab the throttle since I was trying to grab the in-game visualization of the throttle! LOL

so who has a teamspeak or Ventrilo we all can hop on? pretty boring not having the ability to talk to people, everytime I see someone they are going the other way and by time I type a message they are pretty much gone.

There's a private PvE group called "Mobius". They are dedicated to playing the environment and not griefing each other. You get the benefit of interacting with other players without having to deal with the people who get off on killing you just because they can. They have a TS server. Check out their forum thread for more info.
