It's dry, intelligent humour, doesn't appeal to everyone. Most people probably don't like Red Dwarf either.

I'm a "Yank", and a big fan of many British comedies. And yes, I liked Red Dwarf...you smegheads.

Getting back on the topic of Elite...I find it funny to read their official forums and see all the arguments and name-calling regarding Open Play verus Solo Play. It's a lot like the LW crowd belittling the EW/MW crowd - "You don't play my way, so you are not real men and probably couldn't hack it in my world anyway". LOL, they throw "carebear" around a lot.

I think that's pretty much universal when it comes to sandbox mode online games. In EvE it's exactly the same, I have read several times that I have no place in there and have to gtfo just because I'm often halfk-afk mining away in highsec belts. Reminded me instantly of my early days in AH when I was told that bomber and GV players should gtfo of this dogfighting sim (seriously).

And in regard to Alack Adder: the Final episode of "Black Adder goes forth" was just brilliant. A heartbreaking & negative end of a comedy series that really worked.

I have seen Black Adder on tv and I feel my description is just. Not a fan sorry. UK humour just don't get me, that Canadian and Aussie stuff tho is brilliant.

It's understandable, a lot of UK tv shows need to be dumbed down for the US audience, like Top Gear, Life on Mars and so forth.

don't get me wrong I get the joke and can even see how some would find it funny, I just don't find it funny. I don't think it's a question of something needing to be 'dumbed down' I just think the dry delivery is why it's not very funny. I'm going to ignore the hook on this one.

I'm generally a big fan of brittish humor (Runner Up of the war of 1775...) and this really delivers!
