It's two sequels nobody was asking for to two franchises that have been run into the ground. I'm not excited for either of them.

Well, considering how JJ shook up Star Trek  .. it should be interesting to see his take on Star Wars.  I'm looking forward to it.

I've always felt sorry for those that weren't around to see the Star Wars movies as they came out.. Subsequent generations can never know the OMG moment of when Darth Vader told Luke he was his father.  Perils of the midtri - firsttri sequence of production.

Jurrasic Park... I liked the first one.. and I assume this one is as if the first movie was never made.  The effects look awesome! Should be a good show, too.

Never liked star wars and jurassic park was interesting only for the infrasonic effects to test the home cinema subwoofers. Kids will probably be interested in both of them though.

I was in the Navy when the first Star Wars came out. We didn't have DVD's, heck we didn't have VHS tapes on board! I when to the theater and saw that movie at least a dozen times.

Star wars has so many avenues for story lines that I think it could carry a bunch of movies. Whether people would flock to see them is a different story  :D

Jurassic Park, well how many times can you screw up and let the dinosaurs run rampant?

I think the Star Wars movie will do better, and for the fans ill be better.

It's two sequels nobody was asking for to two franchises that have been run into the ground. I'm not excited for either of them.

That may be true for Jurassic Park, but for Star Wars, the fans have been begging for a QUALITY sequel. It looks like we might finally get it. If the "Rebels" cartoon is any indication, then "The Force Awakens" will be fantastic. There seems to be a clear desire by the Disney/Lucasfilm team to match the tone and style of the Original Trilogy. If the new film delivers on that promise, it will dominate the box office just the same as "A New Hope" did in '77 - both because of the nostalgia as well as on its own merits. I personally can't wait to see the new film.

As far as the JP sequel is concerned, they lost me with the fictional "genetically modified" T-raptor-cuttlefish hackjob they invented for this film. The story needs to be at least as good as the original if they hope to make money.  This fake dinosaur has upset a lot of fans, because it kills the whole feel that made the original so iconic. This is not a dinosaur movie anymore, but a generic monster flick. It's the wonder of seeing "living" dinosaurs that captured the imagination of the Original's audience, not the horror movie plotline. It seems like the new film forgot what made Jurassic Park so special. (Just like George Lucas did when he made the prequel trilogy.)

I never heard fans begging for Episode VII. All of the begging and pleading I ever heard was for George to drop the hypocrisy (remember, this is the same guy who testified IN FRONT OF CONGRESS about the importance of films being preserved AS THEY WERE ORIGINALLY MADE barring normal preservation efforts precisely to STOP what he later did himself with the Special Editions) and acknowledge that the fanbase despised his new "vision" and wanted the unaltered version of the Original Trilogy back.

I still think the original Jurassic Park has the most convincing special effects of any other movie to date. As fare as I'm concerned this new Jurassic park movie is the same as the last one A shamless toy commercial.

I think this New Starwars film is in good hands. To be honest, you kind have to go out of your way to make something as simple as starwars bad.
