In case you missed it... Combat Challenge
« on: December 11, 2014, 09:11:50 PM »
Thanks for participating and join us in 2015 for chance to win prizes have tremendous amount of fun!

The shirts are printed and the trophy plaques were cut today. Now for the shipping. I'm hoping to have everything out Monday. So everyone but our furthest contestants should have their awards before Christmas. Last year, I was shocked how fast my Canadian squaddies got our squad T shirt, but I expect our British mates and Aussie blokes will take significantly longer! Please post up when you receive your shirt!

Looking forward to the 2015 series, which is tentatively scheduled to begin January 30th. Still plenty of discussion left for the 2015 series though, I will post some more of my thoughts very soon.

<S>

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

I hope you don't mind...

The Combat Challenge is something that I would have avoided in years past, because I'm not a great pilot.  I always regarded these types of contests as 'ego platforms'.

In the last 18 months I got to know you a little bit...well enough to trust that if you put something together it would be fun first and if somebody made an ego thing out of it that was their own problem.

A lot of us here have done the volunteer thing both inside and outside the game.  Volunteers invest huge amounts of time and their own money to feed something bigger than themselves.  They are most usually embarrassed by recognition.  So I only apologize for making you uncomfortable here.

I thoroughly enjoyed the frames I participated in and I will do every one I can next year.  It's a great event.  You've made room for the other kids to help it evolve and there is really something for everybody in the way the frames are crafted.

So, I thank you again for the nights when, after two hours, I sat in my cockpit, sweat-soaked and exhausted.

Three Cheers for Nefarious!  Hip Hip....
