Fremont is very cool at night. I love the light show, but the crowd can get sketchy. I've heard they've made some changes to clean that up. There's also a new area called The Quad where they moved O'Shea's. Haven't been to Vegas since they've done it, but the people I've talked to that have say it's a lot of fun without all the upscale. Cheap tables, good music, beer pong, cheap drinks, hot staff. Sounds like my kinda place. Also, if all you're going to do is go from the strip to Downtown don't walk, ride the bus. It's $20 for a 3 day pass, but they're cheaper if you buy them at the Downtown Transit Center near Fremont. Save a lot of time and money running back and forth.
The Quad is the old Imperial Palace and O' shea's has $1.00 Michelob's and hotdogs  :aok

Ah, I know exactly where that is. Caesar's is filing Chapter 11. Will be interesting to see if they hold on.
Vegas is going thru another transformation. It went from Rat Pack mob rule, to corporate "family friendly", to "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas". Now it's trending away from high roller gambling to high roller nouveau riche clubbers. Techies have no idea or desire to gamble, but they will drop $250 on a $30 bottle of vodka and $500 for VIP seating at a techno club.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

I know, I like to play poker at the Venetian sometimes and I see all these little girls in there LBD's leaving TAO and they are all carrying there shoes. They even go into the bathrooms barefoot, IN VEGAS, so gross. I wish it would go back to the old days of the "mob rule" since I go to primarily gamble. For the most part the strip casinos don't know how to treat my kind anymore with the exception of the Aria, so I stick to Binon's and The Golden Nugget. Binon's "sweeps" (The person that runs the board in a poker room) will bring my wife drinks, magazine's and pretty much whatever she wants to keep her happy, and me playing. That's how things should be done, Keep wife ack at bay and my butt in the seat. Only bad thing is it's hard to get a bigger game going in downtown casino's so I am forced to play in "Bobby's room" or "Phil's room".
