FW-189
« on: January 17, 2015, 11:18:36 PM »
I am sure this has been brought up before.  I came across a wikipedia article last night while looking into the Yak-3 (I think).  Anyways, it mentioned the FW-189.  I think this plane would make a good, if not a bit redundant, addition to Aces High.  Not trying to start a war, but am interested in feedback.  With enough positive, maybe the almighty HTC will hear our pleas and make a new addition.  Enough negative, and I guess that will be that. Thanks.

BTW, it would be used in the same way as the Storch.  Sorry, forgot to mention that.

I'm all for it. Should get the same capabilities as the storch (GV spotting), but available only on airfields. With its considerable higher speed than the Fi (but still very slow), you have a better chance to get a spotter aircraft to a battle that's not on your hometurf.

Was supposed to be pretty tough for its size from what I've read.

Would be a little harder to mark GV's for folks though.  But I'm all for it's inclusion. :aok

This is a great idea: available from airfields only. It should also have the same icon vis as the storch.

This plane had a unique rear gun apparatus.

Here is a YouTube slideshow showing some great photos of the FW-189.  Around 1:30, it shows several photos of the plane carrying bombs on its wings.

This is actually a very interesting wish. I also support Lusche's suggestion to make it Storch-like available only in airfields. Make it fly out of the BH.

Don't forget the separation of the F4F-3/4 hybrid we have. :)  I believe there is a large enough difference between the two to warrant it. :aok

Don't forget that the Italians are the only country without a bomber of any sort. I think that gap in the plane-set should be filled first.
