Same as above, 1) Good Fight, 2) I recognize the name or former squad mate.  I don't salute if the guy kills all 3 of my buffs- I really hate that!  :salute

Some clowns will salute you when they see a proxy kill show up in the buffer without even knowing what you were in.

That is a brag and not worthy of a .rs

Sometimes when someone shoots me down, I salute, and don't get a salute back.  I don't get mad.  I realize there is a good chance that player is busy fighting one of my teammates, and can't take time to return the salute.

I salute anyone who shoots me down no matter how or in what plane.  In my weird way of thinking, even if I was vulched, with adequate SA, I still could have avoided it.

Slightly different topic:
I usually give shout outs to players landing 2+ kills.  Especially in modest planes.  I never give a shout out to folks landing multiple kills in perky planes (LA7s, Spit16s etc.) figuring that is par...at least it is for me.

All of the above, plus I've more than once thrown out a salute to a guy that was the last one standing on his side in a furball as the horde closed in on him.  Quite often it gets a 'That wasn't a good fight, what's the <S> for?'  It's for going down fighting and giving a good accounting of yourself in the face of overwhelming odds.

Wiley.
If you think you are having a 1v1 in the Main Arena, your SA has failed you.

You, sir, hit a point there! There's no reason to whine about people running instead of fighting if good manners are reserved for the best performers only.   :salute
