The Star Trek transporter is not a digital anything. It's a matter-energy conversion process. Your matter is converted into pure energy, beamed across space and converted back into matter at the other end. The buffers are energy buffers or capacitors if you will that store your energy while you're being rematerialized, not digital information buffers.

You do realize all that stuff isn't real, and William Shatner was a bad actor?

IS a bad actor (who won an Emmy...) The Shat is not dead yet!  :old:

What if it uses some unknown quantum tech since quantum particles can basically be anywhere at a random time, they learned to manipulate them so that the body is moved in a quantum process. :)

You do realize that 80% of 'future stuff' in Star Trek is now either a daily reality or proven scientifically to be possible in the near future? :)

Some scientists say that Star Trek was their inspiration for getting into research and they seek to create the technology in it. Geostational satellites were too once just a comment in a science fiction book until scientists researched it and figured that the authors idea would indeed work.

Predator,

Beaming will have light speed limitations along with probably loosing your unique spark in the process. But, moving space around you, then dropping you out a portal will be a mini version of doing it to a space ship getting it to Alpha Centari in 15 minutes.

Quantum technology will have some awesome practical future applications beyond computing. Quantum locking of magnetic fields for example.

Sure thing. The energy requirements though... We'd better start harvesting galaxies soon.

FTL Warp drive... Theoretically possible according to Stephen Hawkings
Teleportation system... Theoretically possible, electrons have been successfully teleported already
Impulse Drive... The University of Alabama in Huntsville's Aerophysics Research Center, NASA, Boeing, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory are collaborating on a project to produce nuclear fusion impulse rocket engines
Phasers... Electro lasers are being researched by the MIT and US Army
Communicators that work on interplanetary distances... Proven possible through quantum pairing
Portable Medical Scanners... Already produced (Scanadu)
Portable Science Scanners... Primitive variations already produced
Orion Slave Girls... This is the only thing not possible or known, sadly.

NASA is building an experimental warp drive right now, and their "impulse drive", i.e. a reactionless drive has already been built and it's working!

I would say your statement is still wrong. Even if the math suggest that its theoretically possible it doesn't mean it close to happen. Some of those things requires dark matter, that we don't have any evidence that it really exist, only the math that suggest that there must be some sort of matter and energy in the universe that we cant see.

"near future" is a false statement, that is maximum 25 years from now and we will not see teleports, warp drive etc within that time frame.

Near future is 100% accurate since many of the devices in Star Trek already exist. I did not say all, I said some. Reading comprehension please!

U said 80% and that is wrong. And having an electron teleported doesnt mean that we are nowere near doing it with humans. (For example)
