ENY EVERY MORNING
« on: June 08, 2015, 08:04:21 PM »
Well with all the noise and chattering keystrokes regarding HQ and how unfair it is that pilots cant see where the enemy is I hereby post this.

ENY !!!   Most mornings Bish face 20+ eny .  After looking at the roster for over a week  some of the high eny is due to tower sitters and some due to just when Bish numbers are high.  I know the classic line of "Switch sides'  is coming but why should I be forced to change countries when my squad is Bish and have flown Bish since 2002 I pay 15 dollars a month and am handicapped on what planes I can fly.  Its bullcrap.

Perhaps if a player is in tower with no activity they get booted after 15 mins, players with no squad affiliation are sent to low number side or sides, or eliminate eny all together.  Years back it was instituted due more whines about how unfair it was that countries were outnumbered and they were getting rolled.

Can this game please stop cowering to the score hos and furballers whose constant complaints get action.
Sick of flying 25 eny value planes or bombers vs perk planes on a daily basis.  What is not fair? He 111 vs me262 or  trying to defend with a 25 eny fighter vs spit 16 or 109.
I am testing the bounds of reality, curious to see what is going to happen, That is all   JDM

Because there's good people on all sides, all are worth spending time in their company, because you don't have the right to ruin the game for everyone else by making it unplayable through sheer weigh of numbers.

Yes it's flawed, yes it's still better than nothing. I personally feel it's not harsh enough, in that it should take effect immediately.

Tower sitters are fact of life, deal with it.

After years of players complaining about ENY & tower sitting I have finally come up with a solution.

In the next version I will be removing the display of players counts in flight and only display total players. :t

The problem is people staying logged in sitting in the tower hoping to get perk points. HTC should put some sort of deadman switch that would put them in The Lobby. You wouldn't lose connection, but you wouldn't drag down the arena. OR you could award points to everyone in that country online or not. No point in staying logged in. Just get the deadweight off those trying to play.

It once had been that way. If you had played for that side in the 12 hours before the war was won you got the perks even when being offline.
This changed years ago, don't now if by accident or on purpose.

Chess piece loyalty... It's such a strange concept, but then I don't get why people like watching sports either.

Whose mornings are you talking about? The American morning is afternoon in Europe and midnight in Australia. By looking at the time zone map it looks like during the American morning it would be prime time in India, Iran, China, mid-Russia (a.k.a Siberia), Mongolia... None of which is populating a strong AH community as far as I know.

I share your concern about people just sitting in tower, but 15 minutes isn't a long time. That could easily be spent after having a nice squad night just by chatting and doing the aftermath. Booting people after an hour of inactivity including radio chat would effectively remove those who leave their game open during work/school/any other away from home activity.

Side loyalty is caused by many things, friends you've made on a side, preference to a certain style of gameplay, since it seems that each side does gravitate towards a type of tactics. It's not a bad thing, necessarily. I prefer the knights and for the most part intensely dislike the bishops. Rooks seem to have the more balanced style. Just my opinion, though.

All the chess piece countries fight the same way, and chess piece loyalty is the problem causing unbalanced numbers in the MA. If you fought for all countries you'd have friends in all countries. When I log on I check the numbers to see what country needs my service the most and fight for them. Thus, ENY is never a problem for me. If you insist on staying with your favorite team (many other games won't even let you do this btw.) then ENY is there to lessen the impact of your superior numbers. You have no right to whine about it because you chose this yourself and could easily have avoided it by being more reasonable.

To remove chess piece loyalty there'd be a simple solution: Making the system decide your country while logging in. That way the game would mostly always be balanced, unless players in a certain country would leave in masses.

That would also be the end of squadrons. But hey, who's interested in squad ops anyway? This is a game for lone wolves, social castaways and hermits! Social media is the place for heritage squads honoring their wartime idols.  :bolt:

Absolutely disagree. Nits are more disorganized than bish or rooks, and seem to draw the furball types vs the tactical ones. if you doubt that, ask yourself why the nits win maybe 10% of the maps, and rooks and bish split the difference on the rest.

The easiest way to get rid of chess piece loyalty would be to simply rotate the name of the countries once every day or so.

It all depends on who's on and if there are big squads on. It shifts and flows with time of day and day of the week. In essence all the countries are the same.
