I wouldnt go as far as dogs would rather be running free. When we still had land our dogs were out side 90% of the time and chose to stay around because they are a social animal and problem solvers. we did have any fences either

Seems to me the only attacks have been by captive orca, short of a guy who was cut for 100 stitches. There is one fatal attack by a captive whale, of apparently four in total, which might have been caused by bites, more likely due to impact.

So, yeah, not a lot of evidence that orca are a threat to ordinary folk.

Yes, I do and if you had one as well, you'd be able to use it to do a search like I did and see the list of the known attacks on humans by orcas in the wild.  Since you don't seem to have one, here is a news article from New Zealand about a diver that survived an attack.  Now, I'm sure you can find someone in your household with some cognitive skills that can do further searches for you.

That link and others say that guy was holding a bag of fresh goodies, and the whale grabbed the bag, not him. He had to get the bag rope off his arm to avoid being dragged deeper.

All of the recorded attacks are similar in that way, the orcas didn't purposely target humans, the humans just got in the way and were hurt.  The attack that didn't happen was the one the video showed, that one was just an edited video for some commercial in the Dominican Republic.

Not sure if this is on topic with the thread but......

We were out Shark fishing today and had  ( what we guessed) was a 12/13 ft white shark come into our chum line........amazing creatures. After watching it for about an hr we decided to leave the area lest we get one on the gear.
