yeah but they kept the Germans off yours.  :salute

Not sure how you're working that out.  There only place within the British Isles that Germany ever attacked (and won btw) were the Channel Islands.  The defence of Great Britain was all down to the RAF fighter pilots and the Royal Navy surface fleet.

Not that I'm putting down Royal Marines though, fine body of men and very combat effective.  When they get the right beach.  Usually by the 2nd attempt, sometimes 3rd.

Rock apes aren't too bad, used to have some good times with them out in Belize back in the 70's/80's.

They were always a good laugh. I remember a group of them who were seriously leathered in Cyprus had pulled down a ceiling fan and plugged it into a wall socket. This thing was spinning at way faster than usual and with their newly devised weapon they were fending off a group of Snowdrops who were trying to arrest them. The stand off lasted until somebody cut the.power to the whole building  :rofl

:D  Gotta love Snowdrops.  Correction, gotta feel sorry for Snowdrops.  Didn't have the scores to get Penguin training or the nadgers to join a Field Squadron so they stand on a gate and hope they get a dog with some.

More info for Yanks:  A snowdrop is an RAF MP.  Called so cos they wear white caps.  In the RAF, all dogs are ranked Sergeant, therefore it's usual that the dog outranks the handler, therefore.....every Rock Ape will always choose to show his pass to the dog.

Did this coming back on base at Gutersloh one night after a few adult beverages. Snowdrops also have very littlesense of humour when you do this, but we were only there for one night heading out to Benbecula the next morning with a rapier unit.

I'm not a military guy, but I was in the military. Commando means not wearing underwear because it gets wet and sand sticks to it and chaffs one's tender parts raw.

So you wore a dress, err skirt, err kilt then?

Which leads to 'go regimental'.

Which then leads to some trivia: Highland units suffered terribly in gas attacks in WW1.

ok why didn't you post that the first time instead of posting about underwear, if you read the first post you'd realize this is what the thread is about not what you posted about the first time
