Never use to see so much whining over destroyed HQ. What changed?

- Much increased HQ downtime
- often also reduced resupply efficiency
- much less players online than years ago on the same sized maps with resulting changes in gameplay, making no dar much more of an issue than it used to be

It's easy to say things were greater before. People do it with most things so it's also easy to take it with a grain of salt when people say AH was better before than now. But in it's case it's hard not to think that it was better. The main reason I left was due to the size of the maps relative to the amount of players online. It was also funner when strats were more effective at the local level rather than globally. However I had no issue with HQ being down 2 hours before since the maps were smaller and a raid was much more easy to detect. The country that lost dar really only had itself to blame. With larger maps, its very easy to miss a raid or notice it much to late.

Who says anyone is talking to you?

It's an issue as anyone reading the boards or monitoring 200 can tell you. When Hitech was switching the arena settings in the morning the complaints died down.

They complain because they don't care to take the time to defend it. If they chose not to defend it, then they don't deserve it.

Its kind of funny how when the toolshedders got their way the population went down yet they still think their "style" is good for the game.

Think you missed the point of some of the posts. Basically, unless there is someone constantly with their map zoomed out theres really no way to catch one enroute or it's usually too late when someone does spot one. That plus a lot people dont find it entertaining or rewarding for the amount of time it takes to fly up to 35k+ to intercept a raid. And games are meant to be entertaining and rewarding.

It's not that hard to zoom out on your clip board and check around HQ area and routes leading to it every 4 or 5 minutes.

And people complain about climbing out, yet they will spend their time climbing to 10k above the furball and pick. And proceed to complain on 200 when they get killed. I'm not going to point fingers, but we know who they are.

If they can make an effort to not fight and run until the sun sets, then sure they can make an effort to defend the HQ, because they spend most of their time climbing above the fight anyway, or they can simply make an effort to shut up about the HQ. Nobody wants to hear it. My time in ACes High has been short but I've had it to the bucket's edge with HQ complaints. It's so pointless to complain when all you have to do is spend 10 minutes defending the HQ, instead of spend an eternity whining about it.

The type of people you are referring to used to be a minority. If that's the majority now a days then thats only reflective of what the game has become. HQ complaints have always been around but I think with the current make up with large maps and a dwindling player base its a legitimate complaint now relative to when pops were high and maps were smaller.

(Also have to point out. While finger pointing at those who complain about HQ you have complained about people who cherry pick and run which in itself is an old whine.)

It shouldn't be a problem, and honestly intercepting HQ raids is easy work and easy kills. Fights tend to be more spread out and diverse in large maps. They're more enjoyable. The majority now is looking for cheap kills in easy ways like furballs. I think that's reflective of the whining majority.

And yes, I decided to whine about the lack of fights a bit. I guess if people whine about something enough, then HTC takes action. Otherwise, looks like squat to be done from HTC.

haha well the reason im sitting here and not playing is due to lack of fights. and no HTC hasn't done squat about it for about 11 years or so or whenever the big maps were implements. However I did find pizza map enjoyable.

Pizza map is fun. Some close bases, fights are easy to hop into. I just like to avoid the huge red darbars.

But I have to contradict myself a bit here. In all honesty...

Yes, I would love if HTC acted on the lack of fights.

But what is there for them to do?

Very curious on other people's ideas for what HTC could do to generate more fun, small pockets of fights.

But when I think about what they could do, I just turn up empty handed.

Can't wait for the new version so this is less of a problem.

I don't think it will be less of a problem, I think the NEW ah will be the same but just look better, if so I will be out!

You are damn right : some "players" are more interested by ennoying others instead of having fun : their I.Q must be as negative as my freezer in winter...  :furious

Congrats guys, all those hours the Rook HQ was down today and tonight
probably caused half of 'em to log off in disgust. Hopefully, a few actually
unsubscribed from AH, to join the hundreds of others who've done so.
  Meanwhile.....chirp.......... chirp..........chirp.........

I think we're talking about 2 different pizza maps. There was a pizza map that predates the current one.
