At Bank of America we were required every year to take a sexual harassment class along with fiduciary responsibilities classes, IT Security and Ethics, and Classified information and documents. If you failed any of the tests at the end of each class you were released from BofA.
All of the sexual harassment classes I've had to take at different companies since the "fad" started back in the 90's. They all seemed to be a seminar on how not to piss off women at work and get fired classes. Since the 90's the list of things that could piss off a woman at work has grown exponentially along with the reality you are being ordered to submit without question or else. I'm still waiting to be harassed by women at work after all of these years. In california it's not a good idea to complain about being hit on by another guy at work, you can end up with a homophobe label and no job. Strange state.
Just remember this only applies to the work force and lower management for the most part. In the late 90's there was an epidemic of CEO's being sent to sex rehab for serial sexual misconduct. 1998 or 99 it made it big time as an article in "The CEO Magazine" about the epidemic of sexually addicted CEO's in the US and the rehab facility they were being sent to by their boards. Essentially too much time and money grooming them along with the intellectual capitol they represented made them too big to allow to fail. And a tiny contributing bit was the of the cost of firing them versus keeping them to the end of their contract. CEO's and executives can be very expensive liabilities.
It's a giant costly PITA for a company to go through a complaint to HR even if you prove it was a misunderstanding or a lie, after that you are damaged goods at that company. Depending on the state you are in, your manager can be liable along with yourself if she files suit aside from the HR proceedings. Take the class, pass the test, and avoid women at work like the plague unless it's part of your job. My wife worked HR at the corporation I first met her and at Washington Mutual. I had to monitor E-mail at the corporation we met at. We humans are obsessed with everything prono related, carry on behind spouses backs through work e-mail, and outrageous sexual harassment litigatable electronic media conduct.
Drano, your company got an electronic communications misconduct code you have to read and sign every year also?
