Are we at the Limit for Pony skins?

I have a modest proposal if it can be done.   Since the Pony is so popular perhaps we can give it a few extra skin slots!

Here's an early screenshot of it.  Unimpressive from that angle and lighting, unfortunately. It's Bud Fortier's 355th FG Mustang.   He wrote a book titled "An Ace of the Eighth" a few years ago.  Someone was working on this skin a LOOOOOONG time back.   Haven't heard a peep on it so I decided to give it a go.

I will have an updated screenshot with the bump mapping and other "fixes" not present in this picture (I changed the font on the WR*N, updated the tail number, etc.).   I made the skin a lot shinier than my previous releases.   Will see how that works offline for a few days--may even bump it up more before I am through with it.

Thanks.  Looks better now, especially with the bump effects in place.    I am not a Greebo or Devil505 or any of those guys...but I enjoy it.

Just keep practicing and trying to make every new skin better than the last. I'd suggest beginning a new aircraft type altogether, one that's all paint, that way you can experiment more with blending colors correctly and weathering the paint to become realistic looking. I've only been making skins for 4 years and I'm still figuring out new tricks.

Me, too.  I think it will be something a little different.   Minimalist really.  Has almost no paint on it.   That's unusual.

Thankfully we have the update system.  I am tweaking the skins I have to make them better....   Every couple of tours they get better...
